Percy Jackson and the Olympians is coming back for season 3, and for the first time, we're going to see all 12 Olympians on screen together. Based on Rick Riordan's popular young adult series of the same name, Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians has become a quiet hit.

The show premiered in December 2023, adapting the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, and in December 2025, season 2, based on The Sea of Monsters, made its debut. Now, season 3 is on its way. Based on The Titan's Curse, episode 1 will drop on November 20, 2026.

The series has managed to wrangle Riordan's expansive lore and world-building and turn it into something very compelling and engaging, which might have something to do with Riordan being heavily involved with the series. This is the second time his books have been adapted, after all.

In 2010, Riordan's first book was adapted for the big screen, and the second came three years later, but neither did well enough to inspire future film adaptations. Disney+'s TV series has impressively taken on the task, and if the critical and audience acclaim for season 3 matches that of seasons 1 and 2, there's no reason to believe Disney+ won't adapt the final two books in the series as well.

This is going to be a big season for the show. The stakes are higher than ever as Kronos (Nick Boraine) gathers his forces to threaten all of Olympus. At the same time, Percy (Walker Scobell) has to contend with the Great Prophecy, which may foretell that Percy becomes a sinister demigod. At least he'll have the 12 Olympian gods watching his back, the first time they will all have appeared in the series.

Traditionally, the Greek pantheon is led by the 12 major deities who reside in Olympus. They include Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes, and either Dionysus or Demeter. We've already seen a few of these gods in earlier seasons of Percy Jackson.

Dionysus (Jason Mantzoukas) and Ares (Adam Copeland) are recurring characters, and Hephaestus (Timothy Omundson), Hermes (Lin-Manuel Miranda), Poseidon (Toby Stephens), Hades (Jay Duplass), Zeus (Lance Reddick; Courtney B. Vance in season 2), and Athena (Andra Day) all made guest appearances and will return for season 3.

That just leaves a handful of gods, and now we know who they are. Hunter Smielecki is set to play Apollo, Jennifer Beals will be Demeter, Ming-Na Wen will be Hera, Dafne Keen will play Artemis, and Kate McKinnon is set to portray Aphrodite (via DisneyPlus/Variety).

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be the first time we see all the Olympians together in the series, and actually the first time in any Percy Jackson adaptation. The movies briefly showed every god of Olympus, but only in the first film, and a few are only briefly mentioned.

They are not all together in that film, and the show will be the chance to see them as Olympians, a group of semi-like-minded individuals working for the betterment of humanity. These 12 characters will raise the stakes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and bring the story into an even wider world.
