October was a reasonable month for the subscription service, with titles such as Horizon Forbidden West, Mafia: The Old Country and Dino Crisis 2 heading to the PlayStation Plus library. With nine additional titles added, there was something for everyone, but the arrival of new titles means the removal of others, and the PlayStation Store has revealed which games will be leaving the service for Premium and Extra members as of this November.
Already rolling out in select regions as of today, 20 October, the following list has been taken from Asian PS Stores, and it is expected that the same titles will be removed worldwide when the next update rolls out at midday.
As you can see, there are some heavy hitters here, with both Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 getting the chop. With it officially being less than a month until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, it does seem symbolic for this to be the time that GTA V is removed. However, it is still sad to see it, and Red Dead Redemption 2, leave, especially with the latter offering one of gaming's best narrative experiences.
As for Football Manager 26, it has almost been a year since it was first released, and with it marking the lowest rated entry in the franchise, its removal is unlikely to have the same impact as our Rockstar additions. However, Thank Goodness You're Here! is one of the most unique indie titles of recent years, offering hilarious moments as players head to North England to help its residents get out of increasingly bizarre situations.
We have also got 2023 puzzle-adventure game, The Talos Principle 2, coming to the end of its PlayStation Plus library inclusion, and with positive reviews behind it, it will be another blow to users, whilst tower defense racing game, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, offered hours of fun courtesy of its Monty Python-esque humor. Last, but not least, is Cricket 24, the second sports game to be leaving the service.
These titles will leave the PlayStation Plus library as of Tuesday, 17 November, but this will also mark the day that next month’s Extra and Premium titles will be added. Not only that, but it is not uncommon for Sony to add some titles to its Last Chance to Play section, and so it is always worth checking to see if there are any final deals.
With a few weeks to go until the listed games get removed from the PlayStation Plus library, you still have some time to get in all the hours you can, and whilst you may not complete Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, there is nothing wrong in trying.
