Hailee Steinfeld detailed what she’s learned about herself from the “transformative experience” of being a mom to her and Josh Allen’s baby girl Harper.
Hailee Steinfeld is learning to play new notes as a first-time mom.
Six months after she gave birth to baby girl Harper with husband Josh Allen, the Pitch Perfect 2 star shed light on the unexpected impact motherhood has had on her relationship with herself.
“But what I didn’t expect is how much she’s teaching me about myself,” she added. “She’s made me more patient, more present, and so much more aware of how special the little things are.”
And as the Hexed actress continues to discover new aspects about herself amid her motherhood journey, she’s also learning to take her own advice.
“I’m really good at reminding people that they’re human, that things take time, and that everything happens for a reason,” Steinfeld wrote, “and it will all fall into place—how, when, and where it should—and that they don’t have to have everything all figured out.”
Yet, she admitted, “I’m not always the best at taking that advice myself.”
But since becoming a mom, the Sinners star—who married Allen in May 2025—has made sure that her own wellbeing is still a priority.
“This season of life has definitely taught me to slow down, really just soak in the small pockets of joy that are truly all around us,” she shared on the Nov. 5 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark. “Time for myself looks a little different now, but I find it.”
And this mindset of cherishing every moment is surely beneficial when it comes to wrapping her heard around how fast her daughter is growing up.
“I feel like she’s 6 months, and also 4 weeks, and also 5 years old,” Steinfeld told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “Time is crazy how it works.”
“She is totally on the move,” she added. “This girl is crawling around.”

Just a few months after their engagement, Josh and Hailee officially made their red carpet debut at the NFL Honors, where he was named MVP. And during his acccepance speech, he gave her a heartfelt shoutout.
"You’ve been my rock and my best friend," he told her. "I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
They said "I do" in a stunning California wedding ceremony, where she donned a strapless bridal gown with elbow-length gloves.
The couple announced they're expecting their first child with a snowy maternity shoot in her Beau Society Substack.

The pair announced the birth of their first baby together on April 2.
“Our baby girl has arrived!!” the couple wrote on Hailee's Beau Society Substack. “We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes.”
