The likes of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Sir Ian McKellen, and many, many more have been lined up as part of the mammoth ensemble in Avengers: Doomsday. But fans still aren't content, with rumors swirling about who else might appear, especially after the Russo Brothers said that "there are characters and actors who have not been announced, who are a part of Doomsday." Will Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/The Hulk make a smashing appearance? Will Ryan Reynolds' fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool drop by?

Another star heavily rumored to make an appearance in Doomsday is Hugh Jackman, following his starring turn alongside Reynolds in the billion-dollar smash hit Deadpool & Wolverine. A surprise appearance at D23 and supposed insider leaks that he will be involved in a multiversal battle have sparked rumors so fierce that many assume that he has been confirmed as part of the cast. But before December 18 arrives and we finally get an answer to these questions, another Jackman movie — one that performed much worse than his most recent Marvel stint — is proving an unlikely hit.

At the time of writing, 2004's Van Helsing, inspired by the Universal Horror Monster of the 1930s and '40s, is one of the ten most-streamed movies on Prime Video in the U.S. Also starring Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh, and Shuler Hensley, the film was intended to be the latest vampiric hit in Noughties cinema. Instead, the film faced plenty of critical backlash, scoring just 24% on Rotten Tomatoes. Van Helsing's $300 million global haul at the box office might seem like a success in the face of scrutiny, but its reported $170 million tells a different story.

Four franchises, four completely different ways of getting underneath your skin. This is the one built out of your particular fear, why it works so well on you, and what it would leave behind.

Your nightmare does not wait outside the door. It waits for you to close your eyes, which you are going to have to do eventually, because nobody has ever won that particular argument.

Your nightmare is not really the doll. It is the face of the person you tell, and the way they decide, very kindly, that you have imagined all of it.

Your nightmare has your number, knows your name, and has almost certainly been inside your house before. The worst part is that you already know them.

Your nightmare is not really about you. It is about the people asleep down the hall, and the feeling that whatever is here is not interested in leaving.

Both the all-action hit Reacher and its new spin-off Neagley have been dominant forces on the Prime Video charts for the past month. But earlier this week, that all changed when an aforementioned MCU star climbed the streaming summit. Ruffalo's heist threequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, which has just been added to the Prime Video catalog, is now the most-watched title on the streamer after making $243 million at the box office.

Van Helsing is a streaming hit. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more stories.
