Nebula original series “Jet Lag: The Game” is heading back to movie theaters for the travel competition’s Season 20 premiere.
In partnership with Regal, Picturehouse, Cineworld and Landmark Cinemas across the U.S., U.K., and Canada, the 90-minute premiere of “Jet Lag: The Game” Season 20 “Hide + Seek: Italy” will screen across more than 160 theatre screens in three countries on Dec. 5. Tickets for the event go on sale today, Nov. 5.
The upcoming event marks the largest international theatrical release for the series to date following the Season 19 “Japanorama” premiere screening in August at Picturehouse Cinemas in London and the later international rollout of the Season 19 finale across Regal, Picturehouse and Cineworld locations in October.
Select theaters will feature an on-screen trivia experience ahead of the “Jet Lag: The Game” Season 2 premiere screening.
One of indie streamer Nebula’s most popular original series, “Jet Lag: The Game” has featured competitions across Japan, New Zealand, Europe, Australia, and North America throughout its first 19 seasons. “Jet Lag: The Game” stars the show’s creators Sam Denby, Ben Doyle and Adam Chase along with a rotating cast of guest competitors.
Per Nebula’s description for the new season, “In ‘Hide + Seek: Italy,’ the 20th season of Jet Lag: The Game, the boys face off in a six-day game of Hide + Seek across Italy, exploring its scenic seaside towns, medieval mountain villages and rolling Roman hills. But this season is no vacation: the classic Hide + Seek format has been elevated to ‘Expert Mode,’ removing the game’s most powerful questions and introducing new mechanics designed to punish seekers for making mistakes. In the season premiere, Ben and Adam grapple with the new Expert Mode questions as Sam relaxes on the beach.”
“The magic of ‘Jet Lag’ is the community, so it’s a real joy to work with our friends at Picturehouse, Regal, Cineworld, and Landmark to bring that community together in the real world,” Nebula founder Dave Wiskus said.
“Our first Jet Lag: The Game theatrical event demonstrated the potential of bringing an established digital audience into the movie theatre,” Regal senior vice president of U.S. content Brooks LeBoeuf said. “Nebula has built one of the most engaged fanbases in the creator space, and that enthusiasm translated directly into theatrical demand. ‘Hide + Seek Italy’ builds on that momentum, and we look forward to welcoming fans back to experience the series together on the big screen.”
